Shelley English Curriculum Celebration
Shelley Primary showcase and celebrate our learning in English. Children present their writing in each of their units of work and have the opportunity to share across year groups, and key stages. We celebrate our English learning through displays, assemblies and World Book Day.
Year 5 Autumn Term Writing
In Year 5 we start the year with a learning journey on Space. Through this unit we complete two main pieces of writing; an information text based on a planet and a narrative story based on a new parallel world from our text ‘The Many Worlds of Albie Bright’.
During Planetarium we learn how to use parenthesis to provide extra information for our reader. We wrote a short information text on a planet of our choice and presented it in a non-fiction format.
The story of Albie Bright takes him across several parallel universes in search of his recently deceased mother. Whilst there, he meets different versions of himself with one small change. We wrote our own narrative tales on a parallel universe Albie may find himself in next.
